Can You Install Patio Doors with Built-in Pet Doors?
Patio doors with built-in pet doors are options we offer at BM Windows. In fact, they are one of the more popular upgrades that we offer at our San Diego replacement window and door company. The pet door is installed directly into one of the glass panels of your replacement patio door—a great space-saving solution!
For many people, pets are considered a part of the family. As such, they want their homes to be accommodating for their pets. Installing a pet door is a great way to make sure your pet has the freedom to access the outdoors. This helps keep your pets active and healthy. It also keeps you from being your pet’s constant doorman or woman. You won’t have to stop what you’re doing to let them out every time they need to relieve themselves or when they just want to spend some time outside. Having a pet door may also keep your pet from scratching at your door, which is a common way that dogs and cats let you know they want to be let out.
Benefits of the In-glass Pet Doors Sold at BM Windows
The in-glass pet doors we offer are superior to many of the other pet doors you’ll find on the market. Our pet doors have a soft, flexible flap that is gentle on your pet, while also being extremely durable. The door’s frame is made from heavy-duty aluminum and has reinforced corners. It will stand up to many years of heavy use—even if you have multiple pets in your home.
Our pet doors have a magnetic closure and weather stripping, which helps to keep debris out of your home and helps to maintain the energy efficiency of your patio door. The door also has a latch, allowing you to “lock” the pet door when you want to keep your pet exclusively inside or outside for a while.
With our in-glass pet doors, you get to choose the panel in which your pet door is installed. With other products on the market, you can only have your pet door installed on the stationary panel of your sliding patio doors. Since ours have a slim design, you can have it installed on either panel. Most people choose to have the pet door installed on the stationary panel, in the corner farthest from the operable panel. This way, the pet door can still be accessible, even when the operable glass panel is open, but the screen door is closed.
Our in-glass pet doors come in four different sizes, ensuring that we have the perfect size for your furry friend(s).
