Earlier this year, BM Windows published an e-book, titled Investing in Your Home: Replacement Windows and Doors. In the e-book, we reference several studies to back up our claim that replacement windows and doors are an excellent investment for San Diego homeowners to consider making in their homes. One such study is the 2015 Remodeling Impact Report that was put out by the National Association of Realtors Research Department. It was based a survey of members of the National Association of Relators, as well as a survey of members of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI), and a survey of consumers, conducted by HouseLogic.com. BM Windows Looks to Partner with Veterans or Military Organization in 2017
Earlier this month we celebrated Veterans Day. Being located in San Diego, a city with a substantial military presence, we are especially aware of and grateful for our country’s veterans, as well as the amazing men and women currently serving in the U.S. military. Those who have sacrificed so much to protect our liberties and way of life deserve our gratitude—and not just one day a year, but every day. At BM Windows, we have always supported those in the military by offering a military discount on replacement windows and doors, but we want to do more in the coming year. We are looking for a local San Diego nonprofit organization to partner with. We would love to find a reputable organization that provides assistance to local veterans in need, disabled veterans, or the families of fallen …

BM Windows Publishes E-book to Inform San Diego Consumers About the Value of Replacement Windows
At BM Windows, we are always looking for new ways to educate our San Diego customers about replacement windows. Recently, we put together an e-book to inform people of the value associated with replacing the older windows in your home for new, energy-efficient vinyl windows. You can download the e-book for free. Unlike most home improvement projects, updating your windows actually saves you money, since it is an upgrade that increases your home’s energy efficiency. You could see energy savings of up to 15% if you are replacing single-pane windows with aluminum frames with double-pane vinyl windows! However, energy savings aren’t the only way replacement windows can add value to your San Diego home. As the e-book explains, you can also expect to receive a higher price for your home …
Federal Tax Credit for Energy-Efficient Replacement Windows to End in December
If you have been on the fence about replacing the windows and doors in your San Diego home, and you can’t decide if you should do it now or wait until next year, we wanted to let you know about an incentive that might help you with your decision. The federal government is currently offering a tax credit for qualified residential energy efficiency improvements, including energy-efficient windows and doors—but not for much longer! The residential energy credit gives homeowners a 10% tax credit on the cost of replacement window and door products: up to $200 for windows and $500 for doors, but only if they are installed in your principal residence before January 1st, 2017. The products must be ENERGY STAR certified, and they don’t necessarily have to be replacement products. For example, …
