Do All Replacement Window Companies in San Diego Sell the Same Window Brands?

When shopping for certain products, it really doesn’t matter all that much which company you purchase from because they all sell pretty much the same products from the same manufacturers. In that case, you can more or less shop by price and go with the company that provides you with the best bang for your buck. Sure, there might be differences in things like customer service from retailer to retailer, for which you might be willing to pay extra, but for the most part, you can feel confident going with the company that will give you the best price on the product for which you’re shopping.

This isn’t the case with replacement windows and doors. While there are multiple replacement window companies in San Diego, most of them only sell a select few brands of replacement windows, and some of them only offer one brand. Even the “big box” home improvement stores only offer a few different brands of replacement windows and doors, and they might not be the same brands that the big box store down the road sells.

Why does this matter? Because not all replacement windows are created equal. They may look very similar to the untrained eye, but even among dual pane, vinyl windows, there can be a lot of variation. You can have different qualities of vinyl, different glazing systems (glass units), different locking mechanisms, and more. Unless you know what to look for, you may not be able to tell which ones will meet your needs and which ones won’t.

At BM Windows, we’ve carefully selected which brands of windows to offer our customers, based on what most San Diego homeowners are looking for in new windows. We don’t sell anything that we can’t confidently recommend—even if it’s made by a popular manufacturer that people often ask about. For example, a lot of San Diego homeowners ask about Milgard windows because that’s a brand name that many people are familiar with. However, we aren’t confident in the quality of Milgard windows, nor are we confident in Milgard’s willingness to stand behind their products, so we have chosen to not even sell them.

The brands we do sell at BM Windows are not available at many other places in San Diego. In fact, we are one of only a few authorized dealers of Anlin and Monte Verde windows in the area. One of the reasons for this is that both Anlin and Monte Verde require any sellers of their products to go through a fairly rigorous process to become an authorized dealer. These manufacturers want to ensure that their products are installed by companies that will maintain their products’ integrity.

Anlin and Monte Verde are both brands that we can confidently recommend to our customers. We’ve been installing them in San Diego homes for many years, and our customers love them! On the rare occasion that there is a problem with one of their windows or doors, both manufacturers are very responsive and will resolve the issue in a timely manner.

Comparing Replacement Window Brands
