We get a lot of requests for certain well-known brands of replacement windows, some of which we don’t sell, so we need to be able to offer our customers comparable options and be able to explain why we have chosen to sell the brands we do.

Anlin Windows and Doors

Our top pick for the best replacement windows for 2020 is Anlin Windows. Anlin is a California-based replacement window company that has been around for about 30 years. If you’ve never heard of Anlin products, it’s because they aren’t sold directly to consumers. You can only get their windows and patio doors through an Authorized Anlin Dealer that has gone through their factory training.

Anlin products are some of the most energy-efficient windows and doors on the market. They are also durable and are great at reducing the amount of outside noise that comes into your home. They come with an industry-leading double lifetime warranty that is backed up by their highly rated service department. Other replacement window companies may offer similar warranties to Anlin, but then fail to honor them. Anlin truly takes care of their customers and stands behind their products. 

Monte Verde and Bay View Windows and Doors

Monte Verde and Bay View windows and doors are another great option for San Diego homeowners. These windows and doors would be considered more “budget friendly” products when compared to a premium brand like Anlin, but they are still great quality windows and doors. When installed by trained and experienced window installers, they are very energy efficient. They also look great!

Bay View products have a few more upgrades and available options (most notably, several different frame colors to choose from), and their frames are more low-profile, which gives you a larger glass viewing area.

Like Anlin products, Monte Verde and Bay View windows and doors are only available through authorized dealers and aren’t available in stores.

Other Popular Brands of Replacement Windows and Doors

Brands like Milgard and Simonton are well-known brands of replacement windows throughout San Diego. They are sold by many replacement window companies in the area, so they are readily available from a variety of sources. Both brands also have a wide range of window lines and product offerings. If you like lots of options, these are brands to consider.

Despite their popularity, brands like Milgard are not always the best choice for San Diego homes, in our opinion. While they would definitely be an improvement over older, single pane windows, San Diego homeowners can do better (see the brands above)  without necessarily spending any more money. In addition, some of the larger replacement window brands have received mixed reviews about honoring their warranties.
