Simonton windows have gained quite a reputation in the replacement window industry. They were one of the first window companies to start manufacturing vinyl windows, and today, that’s all they do. Simonton is a well-known brand owned by a very large company (Ply Gem) that manufactures a wide range of exterior home improvement products, from siding to roofing to rain gutters.
“Simonton Windows Must Be Good Because They’re So Popular”
This is an assumption many consumers make—if a product is well known, it must be good.
Being owned by a such a large company means that Simonton products have a powerful marketing team behind them. They do a lot of advertising, and as a result, have a lot of name recognition. In addition, their products are sold in Home Depot stores around the country, so even if you’ve never had experience with Simonton’s products, you’ve likely seen them on the shelves, unlike other brands that are only sold by window companies.
Because they are such a household name, we often get requests at BM Windows for Simonton replacement windows. People call our San Diego replacement window company and ask for them by name, and we have to explain to them that we don’t sell Simonton windows.

If You Don’t Sell Simonton Windows, What Replacement Window Brands Do You Sell?
Simonton makes a wide range of products. Some of them—like their more high-end lines—have good energy efficiency ratings, but then other products they make—like their more entry-level products—do not. At BM Windows, we prefer to work with manufacturers that only make high-performance windows, such as the California-based company Anlin Window Systems.
We want you to be confident that any replacement window product you buy from BM Windows will meet or exceed your expectations when it comes to energy efficiency. We also want to make it easy for our customers to find windows that meet California’s standards for energy efficiency, known as Title 24 —which you are required to meet if you are doing certain home remodeling projects. Jim Chitlik, District Manager at BM Windows, with more than 25 years of experience in the replacement window industry says, “All Anlin products are Title 24-compliant without any ‘upgrades’ required. I don’t believe the same can be said about Simonton products.”
Energy efficiency and quality craftsmanship are important to us, as is a company that stands behind every one of their products. As a smaller, regional company, we’ve found Anlin Window Systems to be very responsive to warranty claims.
If you’re looking to install Simonton windows in your San Diego home, we hope you’ll also take a look at Anlin windows. If you do, we are confident that you will find Anlin windows to be a high-quality product. And when you truly compare “apples to apples,” as far as features, materials, and craftsmanship are concerned, we think you’ll find Anlin windows to be a better value over Simonton windows as well.
