Even though our replacement window business is located in San Diego, and we are dedicated to helping our community through various local charities, we also recognize that there are causes around the world that are in need of our assistance. One international organization our company recently connected with is the Kyrgyz Children’s Future.
The Kyrgyz Children’s Future is a charity based in Virginia that is dedicated to helping disadvantaged children in Kyrgyzstan (also known as the Kyrgyz Republic). They provide physical and medical aid, as well as educational programs and projects, to several orphanages, schools, and programs for street children. They also work with families in the United States who have adopted children from the Kyrgyz Republic, helping them connect with their children’s unique Kyrgyz heritage.

The Central Asian country of Kyrgyzstan has a population of about 5.7 million people. Within that population are thousands of “social orphans.” These are children that have one or two living parents, but because of economic circumstances, they are unable to care for their children. Social orphans, which make up approximately 80% of the orphan population in Kyrgyzstan, are sent to live in state-sponsored orphanages, or go to live on the streets along with children who have no living parents.
Orphanages in Kyrgyzstan are vastly underfunded and are often unable to provide even the most basic nutritional, educational, and medical necessities. This is where the Kyrgyz Children’s Future steps in to help. They have provided supplies and structural improvements to orphanages in Tokmok and Bishkek, assisted schools for the blind in Osh and Bishkek, and are working to help street children in Bishkek.
Most recently, they have undertaken a project at the Tokmok Baby House. This orphanage’s outdoor area was unsafe and unusable for the children—filled with rusty equipment, debris, and an old swimming pool. The Kyrgyz Children’s Future is working with the orphanage to install a rubberized playground surface and age-appropriate playground equipment that will be completed later this year (when the weather warms up enough to finish the installation). It is on this particular project that BM Windows has partnered with the Kyrgyz Children’ Future to make sure the work is able to be completed.
The country of Kyrgyzstan has a special place in Michal’s heart because his wife, Aida, was born in Kyrgyzstan. The Kyrgyz Children’s Future is providing much-needed help to a part of the world that most people haven’t even heard about, and BM Windows is happy to support this worthy cause.
The entire staff at the Kyrgyz Children’s Future is made up of volunteers, which keeps their overhead costs extremely low, so any donation made to the charity goes a long way toward helping disadvantaged children in Kyrgyzstan. They are also a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, and all donations are tax deductible.
